Experience Neighborhood Power
SEPT. 10TH-30TH / WALTER PIERCE PARK / INSTALLATION
The Neighborhood Power temporary installation spans 400 feet of printed fabric wrapping the fence in Walter Pierce Park, in Adams Morgan. This park was not chosen by accident. It’s creation was one of the early struggles of the Adams Morgan Organization and neighborhood residents, and it was named for AMO’s first chairman and local activist Walter Pierce.
Visit the installation in the park all month long. Bring headphones for the full multimedia experience.
Join us for special pop-up film screenings and community conversations in the park. Bring an open mind, a lawn chair or blanket and anything else you need to be comfortable outside. Restrooms are available at Starbucks or McDonald’s at 18th & Columbia Rd, one block from the park entrance.

Adams Morgan is home to generations of work to build a liberated and inclusive community. Neighborhood Power is a multimedia project that weaves the stories of community leaders, activists and residents to uplift this inspiring story of how Adams Morgan came together as a neighborhood across lines of difference to create their own neighborhood government, stop housing discrimination and build an inclusive, multicultural community. Our hope is that your own vision for realizing collective liberation is fueled by the beauty and dynamism of this social movement legacy.
